Erick Mashoko
Erick is a graduate of VETA Iringa. He completed his studies in Electrical installation in 2019. Since his graduation, Erick has been interested in self-employment by delivering the service that solves the challenges facing the community. Erick started to repair the installation of households by troubleshooting fault and design wiring. In 2020 he began to engage in innovative ideas in renewable energy for both lighting and income generation purposes. He joined TAREBI to start and develop his enterprise by acquiring skills on how to manage his employees, financial records, and marketing his products and services.Sadati Mpululu
Sadati is a graduate of Don Bosco Youth Training center in Iringa Tanzania. He completed his studies in Electrical Installation in 2019. Since his graduation, Sadat has been interested in self-employment by delivering the electrical service that solves the challenges facing the community. So far he is providing solar installation services to households in Iringa, that enable him to get an average income of 60,000Tsh per month. He joined TAREBI to start and develop his enterprise by acquiring skills on how to manage his employees, financial records, and market his products and services.
Ahmed Yusuph
Ahmed is a graduate of a level three certificate of electrical installation at the Don Bosco Youth training center in Iringa. Before joining the Don Bosco Youth Training center, he previously studied level Two certificate ( under VTA) in Electrical Installation at Mbeya VTC Year 2015- 2016. Later on, he joined Don Bosco Youth training center Iringa from January 2018 to December 2018 (one-year training), and he was awarded a Certificate of electrical installation level Three. Since his graduation, he has been engaged in various self-employment opportunities, such as electrical installation in households for both solar and grid electricity. Also, he was part of the team responsible for the installation of the Minigrid solar system at Don Bosco.
Banking on the income generated from his informal enterprise, he wants to upscale his undertaking by registering a formal enterprise to be named as “SAMBWE ELECTRICAL SERVICE” – dealing with sales, distribution, and installation of electrical equipment and services for both solar and main grid customers. He sees TAREBI as the right bridge between his vision and reality. He expects to develop requisite skills in on financial management marketing and access to relevant support networks and business development services
Agustino Komba
Augustino graduated from Iringa Vocational with a certificate in Electrical Domestic Installation in 1993. In 1994 he joined Moshi Vocational Training College and graduated in Certificate in Industrial Electronics. After graduation, he worked for several companies, and in 2007, he decided to take self-employment opportunities.
Since then, he has been dealing with both technical and consulting services in electrical and electronic products and services. In 2009 he developed a keen interest in clean energy, and since then, he has been providing services in solar energy installation and services to both rural and peri-urban communities. Also, he has currently established a small local processing plant where he services inverters, which transforms electrical power from DC to AC.
He sees TAREBI as an essential stepping stone for taking his enterprise into the next level. He expects to acquire the necessary skills and competencies for managing the complexities of technical business at the same time implementing his road map for personal and business growth.
Suleiman Bakari
Suleiman is a graduate of Don Bosco Technical Centre with certificates in Electrical installation in 2019, and solar and electronics in 2020. Since his graduation has developed a keen interest in the intersection between rural clean energy ecosystems and poverty levels, apart from that, he has been actively engaged in small scale -farming and cattle selling. His mainstay is selling and installation of a solar home lighting system in rural Dodoma. He joined TAREBI to start and develop his enterprise by acquiring skills on how to manage his employees, financial records, and market his product and services.
Neema John
Neema is a graduate of the Kipawa Vocational Education and Training Authority in Dar es salaam Tanzania with a certificate in Electrical installation and Automations in 2018. Since graduation Neema has been interested in self-employment by delivering the solutions to community energy-related challenges. Neema wants to establish an all-female clean energy small scale enterprise that will grow to a more prominent company in rural Morogoro. Currently, she is self-employed by providing electrical installation and support services to households in rural Morogoro. She joined TAREBI as the stepping stone towards building a foundation for the establishment of her enterprise by accessing both skills and support networks.
Simon Mwakasasa
Simon is a graduate of Don Bosco Technical Institute in Dodoma Tanzania. He completed his certificate in Electrical Installation and solar in 2019. Since his graduation, Simon has developed an interest in delivering last mile clean energy to rural poor. So far, he is providing solar installation services to households and supplying Solar Lantern (PICO products) in Dodoma, especially in rural areas. He envisions to grow his enterprise into a large business with a deep network in rural areas and possibilities of facilitating end-user financing to rural poor. He joined TAREBI to start and develop his enterprise by acquiring skills on how to manage his employees, financial records, and market his products and services.
Japhet John Bosco
Japhet is a graduate of the Don Bosco Technical Institute in Dodoma. He graduated with certificates. Electrical Installation in 2017 and 2018 a certificate in Solar Energy Installation and Electronics. He currently runs his small scale business specializing in home system solar installation and selling solar and electronics equipment, and He also repairs electronic gadgets such as mobile phones, etc. He joined TAREBI to acquire more knowledge and skills to enable consolidate and grow his business
Patrick Makoye
Patrick is a graduate from Don Bosco Technical Institute in Dodoma Tanzania with a certificate in Electrical Installation and solar in 2019. Since his graduation, Patrick has been devoted to delivering last-mile clean energy to rural poor. He has established a small enterprise providing services such as the installation of the solar home lighting system and solar PICO products to households in rural areas of the Dodoma region. He joined TAREBI to start and develop his enterprise by acquiring skills on how to manage his employees, financial records, and market his products and services.
Deus Lema
Deus is a graduate of Don Bosco Youth Training Centre in Iringa Tanzania. He completed his Certificate in Electrical Installation and solar energy in 2019. He is very intuitive and creative, and through that, he has established his small enterprise that specializes in innovation leveraged by solar technology. He currently develops and sells solar power home music systems (home theatre),
Inverters, installations of solar pumps for agriculture, and household electricity. Before that, he was briefly employed in Mwanza region with SIMU solar as a technician. His interest with TAREBI is to acquire tools and skills to upscale his innovation to reach the wider rural community in Tanzania
Peter Simkoko
Peter Simkoko is a graduate of Don Bosco Youth Training Centre Iringa with a certificate of Electrical installation and solar system in the year 2019. Since graduation, he is in the process of developing his enterprise specializing in installation and servicing of solar-powered home systems and other utilities. He joined TAREBI II to access essential support in terms of skills and linkage into the solar energy business ecosystem in Tanzania.
Haki Zacharia
Haki is a graduate of the University of Dar es Salaam with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. He also graduated from VETA Iringa in a certificate of electrical installation in 2019. He was briefly employed in teaching before he developed an interest in energy entrepreneurship. He currently lives in Iringa, running his energy enterprise specializing in household and projects electrical Installation, solar installation, and Maintenance. He Joined TAREBI to develop an entrepreneurial career, especially developing a foundation for a clean energy enterprise.
January Kifaru
January is a graduate of Don Bosco Youth Training Centre in Iringa with a certificate of Electrical installation in 2018. He worked as a volunteer at Mkwawa pure drinking water factory for 6 months to gain more experience and exposure after graduation. Currently, is self-employed in Iringa providing Electrical installation services to households. He is planning to establish a formal enterprise dealing with electric installation and delivery of clean energy solutions to the last mile users. He joined TAREBI to access necessary support for developing his enterprise.
Felista Nanguka
Felista is a graduate of Ndanda training center, in Mtwara in 1997, with a certificate in electrical installation, she later joined Technical Teachers Training College in MVTTC Morogoro for her diploma studies in 2012. She is working with Ndanda Community college teaching solar technology to youth.
She joined TAREBI II specifically to enhance her knowledge and skills repository, especially on clean energy entrepreneurship so that she can support youth and women to establish and manage energy enterprises and actively contribute to the development and growth of clean energy ecosystems in the southern corridor of Tanzania.
Mka Shaibu Ima
Mka Shaibu Ima is an Associate degree graduate in journalism from the University of Central Arkansas. He is an honest, self-motivated, and hardworking individual with a positive attitude towards his career and life. He is interested in the solar and clean energy industry based on his experience of working in the USD. He joined TAREBI since April of 2020 to acquire knowledge and skills on how to necessary for starting his solar energy enterprise.
Joseph Mmanda
Joseph is a graduate of the Institute of Finance Management (IFM). Dar es Salaam Tanzania in Bachelor of Science degree in Social Protection (BsSP) in 2017. Since his graduation, Joseph has been interested in self-employment by delivering the service community livelihood challenges. Joseph was employed as a loan officer in one of the microfinance institutions in Tanzania from January 2018 up to September 2018. He later joined a solar company as a marketing officer.
He later founded TRINITY SOLAR ENERGY in 2016, with his other 3 colleagues. The company specializes in the installation of solar home systems and projects. They have recently identified and capitalized on a growing market niche of developing solar community projects for schools, hospitals, and other public facilities with local government authorities. He joined TAREBI to access relevant business development services for the growth and consolidation of the enterprise.
Geofrey Thobias
Geoffrey is a Co-Founder and Executive Director of Youth Dreams On Economic Prosperity Org. (YODEPO) based in Dar es Salaam. YODEPO visualizes a poverty-free society which is Socially, Economically, Self-reliant, and Conscious about basic and human rights’.Geoffrey holds a Diploma in Education and a Bachelor in Education majoring In Mathematics from Iringa University Tanzania. He is also a Certified Life Coach from Ideal Life Vision Tanzania.
He is passionate about working with marginalized groups of Youth by conducting Training in behavioural change and create income-generating projects through SHGs. He has experience of working with Educational Institutions and Non-Profit Organizations. He joined TAREBI II to acquire and sharpen his Business and Entrepreneurship Skills and enhance his performance in People and Project Management.
Herman Mmanda
Herman is a graduate of Mzumbe University in Morogoro in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing management in 2013. Since his graduation, Herman has been interested in self-employment by delivering service that solves the challenges facing the community. Herman started selling the computer devices and IT solutions to companies from July 2013 to October 2014, where he began dealing with Solar Renewable Energy.
Herman was employed by a local solar company in October 2014, working as a financial controller and later as the project manager. He then founded TRINITY SOLAR ENERGY In 2016 with his other 2 colleagues. The company started working by installing the solar home system to different clients and later on ventured on a new market focusing on solar project write-ups. He joined TAREBI to start and develop his enterprise by l acquiring skills on how to manage his employees, financial records, and market his products and services.
