The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors composed of development, policy, and entrepreneurship practitioners. Day to day management is under a CEO supported by a lean team of professionals.
Management and Board of Experts lead the IMED Foundation in entrepreneurship, business management, and development finance. The Foundation has a dedicated management team delivering exceptional demand-driven services to its stakeholders. The management team is guided by an independent Board of Directors with immense experience in the focus areas of the Foundation. The profiles of the management team are listed below;
Swabiri Khalidi
Khalidi has extensive expertise and experience in carrying out research, training and consulting in the area of public policy advocacy. He has over 15 years’ experience in working with private sector organizations in Tanzania through training, mentoring, and influencing public policy at local and national levels. He was a member of the team that was involved in the development of the cutting edge training materials and cases that are currently used in training Private Sector Organisations (PSOs) in policy advocacy and institutional development process.
He was a co-coordinator of a capacity building program, which was very instrumental in building both the institutional and advocacy capacity of private sector organizations in Tanzania. Through his work, he has established a strong network with a majority of private sector organizations in Tanzania.
Besides, Mr Khalidi was an employee of the University of Dar es Salaam Business school, where he taught and consulted in the area of Human Resources Management, Organisational Development strategy, and entrepreneurship. Mr Khalidi is a holder of MBA (Human resources management) from the University of Dar es salaam and currently pursuing his PhD studies in the same area. He attended several short courses in Columbia University ( USA), Keio University (Japan), Gordon Institute of Business Science ( South Africa ), Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), Utrecht University ( The Netherlands) and Business Academy Aarhus ( Denmark)
Prof. Neema Mori
Prof. Mori has over fifteen years of experience of researching and consulting in areas of financial education, small business finance, corporate governance, microfinance, and entrepreneurship. She has attended several competency-based courses and international conferences on entrepreneurship, microfinance, corporate governance, women entrepreneurship, youth empowerment, business planning, consultancy skills, adult training, and project management. Besides, she has participated and managed research and consulting assignments for various agencies such as International Labor Organization (ILO), Financial Sector Deepening Trust (FSDT), Business Environment Strengthening for Tanzania (BEST), International Fund for Agriculture Development (IFAD) and Research on Poverty alleviation (REPOA).
Prof. Goodluck Charles
Prof. Urassa is a trainer, motivational speaker, researcher, and entrepreneur for over 20 years. He has accumulated a lot of practical experience and skills in leadership and management, change management, customer service, business analysis, marketing, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy not only as a consultant but also, as a practitioner. He has trained employees of various corporate organizations including the CRBD Bank, MIC (Tigo) Tanzania, NMB Bank, National Bank of Commerce (NBC) Bank, Tanzania Cigarette Company (TCC), and Barrick Gold Tanzania. For a couple of years, he has delivered a number of training sessions on leadership, team building, change management, client analysis, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship for several organizations. He has also offered public talks and motivational presentations to a wide range of clients. Goodluck has supported the various institutions to develop the Customer Service Charter and he has currently supported the University of Dar es Salaam to develop and adopt a new Customer Service Charter.
As a professor of management and entrepreneurship, he has researched and published over 30 articles in various international journals. He holds a Ph.D. in Business Administration, a Master of Business Administration (MBA-Marketing), and a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom-Marketing). He has worked with the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) for over 20 years and he has been consulting for the Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship (IMED) for more than 12 years
Dr. Donath Olomi
Dr. Olomi is an entrepreneurship and private sector development specialist with over 24 years experience in programme design, management, training and consultancy in areas related to entrepreneurship, youth development, curriculum development, renewable energy, business formalization, gender, business environment reform, business development services provision and financial services, business incubation, etc. He has initiated and led several entities and projects, and is a re-known expert, entrepreneur and advocate for entrepreneurship development in Tanzania, where he pioneered several successful initiatives including the establishment of several business incubators and IMED. Dr. Olomi has led over 6 assessments of the entrepreneurship ecosystem and develop strategic interventions relating to renewable energy enterprises, women entrepreneurship, nutritious products related SMEs, business incubation, ICT portals, business formalization, etc
